Yama Uba and Malocculsion are excited to come to Italy to perform at the Ghost In The Trees Festival (Volume 2) in Carpi, Italy on 13 July and 12 July in Alessandria. We will be performing several other shows around Milan, etc. Please get in touch if you would like to help set something up. E will be in the country from 11 July to 20 July. YAMA UBA, 2023
Yama Uba is the darkwave/post-punk project of Akiko Sampson (Ötzi/Psychic Eye Records). With expansive vocals, explosive bass guitar and heavily layered synths over synthpop and industrial beats, Yama Uba’s sound and live performances have captivated audiences across the United States, Mexico and Europe. Their upcoming album, Silhouettes, will be released in October, 2023 on Psychic Eye/Ratskin Records.
Since 2017, Akiko Sampson has shared stages as Yama Uba (or in their previous project, Ötzi) with darkwave, post-punk and punk luminaries such as The Chameleons, Pink Turns Blue, She Past Away, Light Asylum, and Twin Tribes, amongst many others.
On October 14, 2023, Yama Uba will perform live in Tokyo, playing with the Japanese deathrock legends Phaidia, followed by a tour of other cities in Japan.

MALOCCULSION / マロコルシュン
Malocculsion, or Michael Daddona, is a sound, visual, and performance artist currently based in Oakland,CA currently exploring relationships of sound, the body and the exterior space in which they exist through dark, psychedelic, esoteric electronic music. Through high tension musical performances utilizing customized homemade instruments, synthesizers, voice, and percussion, Malocculsion explores the negative spaces of our perceived realities, and the social and physical spaces that surround us.
Malocculsion founded and runs the RATSKIN Records imprint, founded in 2005, which focuses on documenting and releasing audio based works on LP, cassette, CD and digital formats. as well as co-founding the Coral Remains a dystopian horror- inspired conceptual performance art collective. Malocculsion has performed with RUINS, Bastard Noise, Wolf Eyes, Aaron Dilloway, and Hiroshi Hasegawa.
