"Headboggle is Ohioan Derek Gedalecia and Digital Digital Analog is a typically wonky collection, though the sounds of grand piano sashaying beneath hysterical synth ensure that it’s the most maximalist things he’s created. Like previous record Blues For Prophet, there’s a playfulness to these pieces that loiters around the edge of kitsch – “Funk Randy” garbles elastic synthesizer lines like Zapp & Roger fed through a dot matrix printer, while “Breakdance Music” is a pleasing stack of lo-fi beats. On tracks such as “Cincinnati Bogarts Theme”, however, where squelching synths barrel and roll like haunted ballpark organ music, it’s clear that Gedalecia has hijacked kitsch, manipulating it into his own outlandish textures and shapes, like a slightly less unsettling Larry Wish." - THE WIRE, ADVENTURES IN MODERN MUSIC.
